First place for Lokomotiva in the tournament in Brčko

Memišević: I want to be permanent member of the national team

After a year, Samir Memišević is back in the national team.

Although he received invitation subsequently, it did not least affect his satisfaction that has been among the players who compete for matches against Armenia and Greece, within the qualifications for EURO 2020.

He confirms this:

“I am very happy and grateful to the head coach who gave me a chance. I am extremely pleased to be part of this team and I am proud to re-dress the favourite jersey. Of course, I am aware that every day we have to prove ourselves both on and outside of the pitch. I think that, with my work and games at the club, I showed that they can count on me. My team plays better and better, as well as me. I will try to stay at this level and stay permanently in the national team.”

Memišević believes that we should not have problems in the opening of the qualification cycle:

“We are favourites against Armenia, regardless of the fact that they also have their qualities and that every opponent must be taken with maximum seriousness. Nevertheless, our team is better, we have better individuals and we should not have problems. With Greece, it will be harder, because there will be a fight on the pitch, but I am an optimist, and I think that we will win the maximum number of points from both matches.”

Two days of preparations passed and Samir Memišević emphasizes that the atmosphere and the positive energy among the players is what especially motivates him:

“The atmosphere is very good, we hang out and we are all together. As Koljić and I are roommates, I spend most of my time with him and with these of my people from the Tuzla Canton, Ćivić and Todorović. But there are the players I have met through the Premier League, so that all together gives me great satisfaction and at the same time an additional motive for work and competition.”

The BH national player says he is satisfied with his club, but he also wants some changes:

“I'm very happy at my club, but I want to make some big progress in my career. All is possible, either to stay or to change the environment. I do not think about it right now, it’s important for me to be here, ready to answer all the tasks, if I get a chance to play.”
