Pjanić made his debut on August 20, 2008, at the same stadium in a friendly against Bulgaria. Nearly 16 years later, he played his last match in BiH colors at the same venue: the Euro 2024 play-off match against Ukraine.
Over the course of his distinguished international career, Pjanić earned 115 caps and scored 18 goals, leaving a lasting mark on the pitch and in the hearts of fans. His vision, elegance in passing, and dedication to the national jersey made him a symbol of the "golden generation" that brought Bosnia and Herzegovina’s first World Cup appearance in 2014 in Brazil.
FFBiH president Vico Zeljković and sporting director Emir Spahić presented Pjanić with a framed jersey bearing the number 115, representing his total appearances for the national team.
The Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina thanks Miralem Pjanić once again for his years of dedication, professionalism, and passion for the national team. We wish him the best in all his future personal and professional endeavours.
Thank you, Mire!
