Petev selected players for the matches with Kazakhstan and Ukraine

The “A” national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will play the next two matches in the World Cup Qualifiers away against Kazakhstan on 9th and Ukraine on 12th October.

At today’s press conference in the BH FF premises in Sarajevo, the head coach Ivaylo Petev announced the names of the players he was counting on in these matches, and you can download the list HERE.

After the list was published, Petev answered questions of journalists who, among other things, were interested in why interruptions were a problem in the Dragons’ game.

“We will have to pay attention to the corner kicks and we will work on correcting the details and mistakes we made in that segment. As soon as we conceded a goal that way, it means we had a problem with interruptions. We will have to try to change that and be maximally concentrated in the matches with Kazakhstan and Ukraine”, Petev said.

The head coach also referred to the pitch with artificial turf on which the match will be played in Kazakhstan:

“That is their advantage in a way, because their players mostly play on an artificial turf, and in our case, maybe, only Stevanović on the away match with Young Boys. We have to prepare for that and we will have two training sessions in Kazakhstan. No matter what, we have a goal that we strive for and I hope we will achieve it.”

Ivaylo Petev added:

“Sure, 6 points would be great for us, but now we are thinking only about the first match, and after that we will think about Ukraine. It’s a team that has made a lot of progress in recent years, their U-20 national team was the world champion and it’s a serious team. However, we don’t think about them as much now as we do about Kazakhstan.”

The national team players will gather in Ilidža on 4th October.
