The senior team will play with Liechtenstein and Armenia in the EURO 2020 qualifications, while the U-21 team will play away in Belgium in the European U-21 Championship 2021 qualifications.
Prosinečki said, among other things: “After the matches with Finland and Italy, in which we did not achieve good results, we have no right to fail now. We need to get well prepared for these matches, and for those ones ahead in October and November. We have some injured players, some do not play for any club, and therefore we have invited 25 players. Vladan Kovačević has been returned to the U-21 team, facing a difficult match with Belgium.”
Marinović stated: “We have a match against a very high-quality team. In this regard, we want to have as much experience as possible in the team, but we also follow the younger players, because we want to see their possibilities as well. Players are standard in their clubs, which is good. Due to injuries, we will miss the backing players Jusuf Gazibegović and Selmir Pidro. I hope there will be no more injuries, but if there is, we will react in time.”
The “A” national team gathers in Zenica on 2nd September, and the U-21 team a day later in Ilidža.
