Head coach Prosinečki said:
“The guys did a good job in this match. In addition to the three goals, we had more opportunities. We played in this squad for the first time, with players who have played less so far and we can be satisfied with what we saw. Ahead of us is the draw for the play-off, and we’ll be preparing for that.”
The double scorer, Armin Hodžić, points out that this team has much more to show:
“It was quite difficult to play tonight. We are all sorry that we did not qualify for the EURO, but we have another opportunity in March and we want to show everyone how strong we are. I’m happy for the goals and for the three points scored.”
Eldar Ćivić does not hide satisfaction with his goal for the national team:
“I am delighted to have achieved my debut goal for the national team. We needed that goal and it was easier to play later. The opponent defended well until that moment, but in the end the quality that was on our side came to light.”
Dino Hotić says on his debut for the “A” team:
“I’m happy about my debut. I’m sorry I didn’t score, and I had the chance. After a 1:0 lead, it was easier to play and we scored two more. The important thing is that we won three points and now we have to get ready for the play-offs in March.”
Goalkeeper Kenan Pirić also commented on the match:
“It was very cold, but we played a good game. In some ways, we justified our expectations. I am happy that the head coach gave me confidence and that I defended the goal in a qualifying match for the first time, but also because I saved the net. It was difficult because the opponent retreated. It is not easy for any team to score when ten players are in a defence. We managed to break through their block in the second half and later everything went in our favour.”
