Sarajevo winner of the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Final match of the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina 2020/21, in which Borac and Sarajevo from Banja Luka met, was played today at the FF BH Training Centre in Zenica.

After 90 minutes of the game, there were no goals, and after the penalty kicks, the Sarajevo team won the Cup.

Sarajevo first threatened in the 24th minute. Jasmin Mešanović tried to shoot diagonally from the right, but sent the ball over the goal.

On the other hand, David Čavić in the 33rd minute passed great on the left side and cross the ball into the five-meter area for Elvis Mehanović who sent the ball unhindered next to the goal.

Sarajevo winger Jukić had a good attempt from the edge of the penalty area in the 37th minute, and the ball went right next to the goalpost.

Borac captain Stojan Vranješ returned 3 minutes later from a distance, but he was not precise either.

Vranješ was the first to threaten in the 56th minute, but Vladan Kovačević stopped his shot.

Sarajevo had a great opportunity in the 66th minute through Jasmin Mešanović. The striker of the “Burgundy” team went alone towards the opponent’s goal, he also bypassed the goalkeeper Nikola Lakić, but his shot from the goal line into the corner was thrown out by Đorđe Ćosić.

Borac midfielder Aleksandar Vojnović shot well from 72 meters in the 72nd minute, and the ball ended up in the goal-out again.

In the 78th minute, Matthias Fanimo sent the ball from a free kick above the crossbar.

The players of Banja Luka had the next opportunity. David Čavić crossed from a free kick, the highest in the jump was Đorđe Milojević, but Kovačević intervened well and that was the last chance in the match.

This was followed by a penalty kicks where the players from Sarajevo did better, winning 4:1.

Cups and medals were handed over to the finalists by the FF BH President BiH Vico Zeljković, Vice-President Irfan Durić and General Secretary Adnan Džemidžić.
