- NK Široki Brijeg – FK Željezničar
11’ – The visiting team scores. After VAR review, it was determined that visiting player no. 11 was offside, and the goal was correctly disallowed.
43’ – The visiting team scores after a long attacking phase. VAR review of the entire attack confirmed that player no. 14 was offside at the start of the action (same APP), receiving the ball from teammate no. 9, and the goal was correctly disallowed.
86’ – The visiting team scores. It’s evident that player no. 99 was offside (see image from VAR room), which the assistant referee correctly signaled, following VAR Protocol by waiting until the end of the action before raising the flag. The RO (replay operator) couldn’t generate a graphic line overlay to confirm the decision, as the lines weren’t visible due to sunlight; something that often occurs in similar conditions and isn’t related to equipment quality or officiating, but to technology. In this case, the on-field decision was accepted.
FFBiH firmly rejects all pressure on match officials and won’t engage in public debate over every complaint or appeal from clubs. The Referees Committee conducts regular analysis of all match officials’ performance after each round, in line with its jurisdiction, and makes decisions based on relevant regulations and guidelines, aiming to ensure equal conditions for all clubs and the integrity of the competition.
