Eight teams will compete in the league: Emina, Iskra, Leotar, Libero, Radnik Bumerang, SFK 2000 Sarajevo, Sloboda Tuzla, and Vogošća.
SFK 2000 Sarajevo, the defending champions, were set to face Sloboda in the first round, however due to their participation in the UEFA Women's Champions League qualifiers, the match has been rescheduled for September 18.
On Sunday, September 1, Leotar will host Iskra at the Police stadium in Trebinje at 17:00, while the first-round derby between Emina and Libero is scheduled for 18:30 on the Rođeni auxiliary pitch in Mostar.
Emina’s head coach, Zijo Tojaga, shared his thoughts ahead of the match: "We've successfully wrapped up our preparations, and the most important thing is that everything went smoothly without injuries. We've played three friendlies, each within the planned timeframe, which fully met our expectations. Our aim is always high, and this season won't be any different. As for the first game of the new season, we approach it with full respect for the opponent, but our focus is solely on winning three points and starting the season in the best possible way."
Team captain Elma Husić also expressed her expectations for a positive result: "We've been eagerly awaiting the start of the new competitive season. Our preparation period went really well, with three friendly games, and we're pleased with what we've achieved so far. On Sunday, we'll face Libero from Goražde, and it will be a match filled with a lot of intensity from both teams for sure. Our goal is to win, and I'm confident that with a serious approach, the result won't disappoint."
Libero's coach, Emir Sarajlić, on his team's preparations for the new season: "The club has provided us with all the necessary conditions for work, and I think we've made good use of that. We're entering the championship fully prepared. All players have shown great dedication, giving their best in every training session, with a clear desire to earn a spot on the team. Last season, after the first two rounds, we finished 5th and then continued playing in the relegation league, where we won all six matches. That was obviously good results-wise, and it allowed us to give more playing time to young players, who showed they're reliable substitutions for the future. With that in mind, our ambition this season is to attain a better result and secure a spot that allows us to play in the main championship league."
He also commented on the upcoming game: "Emina Mostar has been at the top of women's football in Bosnia and Herzegovina for years and certainly deserves great respect. We know they have a good team, a wide selection of players, and have also acquired some new talent this summer, so we expect a tough match. We'll give our maximum effort and do everything, within sportsmanship and the rules of the game, to earn a favorable result. I'm really happy to lead a team where the players don't need extra motivation. I'm sure they'll do their best on the field in every match, including this one in Mostar, to achieve a good result. Our goal is always to win, but in this case, we wouldn't be unhappy with a draw."
Libero's captain, Branka Cvijetić, briefly commented on the game against ZF/NK Emina: "First of all, I'm very happy and excited that the championship is starting. Duels against Emina are always special, full of passion and rivalry. We’ll take the field with full motivation, putting forth our best effort to secure a victory.
The date for the fourth match of the first round (Vogošća vs. Radnik Bumerang) is yet to be announced.
