The first thing you notice when arriving at the FFBiH Training Center these days is the nicely decorated space, with an atmosphere full of companionship and team spirit. The national futsal team is in good mood as they prepare for the first round of qualifiers for Euro 2026 in Latvia and Lithuania, starting with Friday’s match against England.
Edvin Bosnić, the youngest member of the team, listens carefully to his older teammates, whether they’re discussing training sessions or sharing life experiences. When asked how he feels and what motivates him to play futsal, Bosnić said:
"I feel great. Even though I’m the youngest here, I know some of the players already. A few of us played together in the junior national team. Many of the older teammates were my role models, so it’s a unique experience being here with them. Like most boys, I started with regular football, but then the call-up to the under-19 futsal team changed everything. We played a tournament in Serbia, where we finished third, and then went to Finland for Euro qualifiers. That motivated me to stick with futsal. I also love the game’s speed, dynamics, and many scoring opportunities."
What does the national team call-up mean to you?
"I can’t express how happy and proud I am to represent my country's colors. It’s not something you think about when you start playing football or futsal. I was aware I had to work hard to reach the level expected of a national team member. This motivates me to improve further and justify this opportunity."
Do you have any pre-match rituals?
"Nothing special, mostly just listening to music. The most important thing for me is rest so I can prepare physically and mentally."
How do you find the Premier Futsal League?
"It’s exciting and competitive. Cazin is a futsal city; Bubamara matches attract up to 2,000 fans, thanks to our results and the local love for the sport. It’s amazing to be part of this, playing in front of such passionate supporters."
What do you expect from the match against England?
"These will be my first qualifiers. So far, I’ve only played friendlies, and I’ll do my best if given the chance to play. I expect a tough game, but I’m certain we can make a good result. The whole team is thinking positively, and with fan support, I believe we’ll start the qualifiers on the right foot."
