Spahić: European Championship as a motivation for further work

The U-17 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina will gather today in Ilidža and thus begin preparations for the European Championship, which will be held in our country from 3rd to 15th May.

Alisa Spahić, the coach in the technical staff of the head coach Ilija Lucić, is proud to be a part of this important event:

“All athletes have a desire to take part in a big competition, so as a player I dreamed about it. That dream came true, but in the role of a coach. I am overjoyed and proud that the generation in which I am a coach will have the opportunity to present the BH football on the European scene. This is a great honour and motivation for further work and education. I am sure that in addition to the preparation of our team, we will have space to see and learn a lot from the strongest European teams.”

Spahić does not hide her enthusiasm that the EURO will be held in our country:

“It is a huge thing for us that UEFA has chosen our country for the host. Our Federation will certainly do its best to keep the organization at high level, and I believe that the clubs will unite and help make it all look much better and of better quality. We will all be aware of when it all starts, what kind of project it is and how much we are rewarded with hosting the European Championship.”

This young coach points out that a lot of work has been done to make the team as ready as possible for the EURO:

“We have been working on creating a team and playing for a year and a half. Behind us are very difficult matches in the qualifiers where we played with Germany, Finland, Portugal, Belgium. In this regard, we already have some experience that will help us in matches with the strongest teams. We will certainly all do our best to present BH football as well as possible.”

Spahić adds:

“A lot has already been done to promote the EURO, and I believe that by the beginning of the competition the activities will be even greater and that we will give importance to the selected girls who will wear the jersey of Bosnia and Herzegovina in such quality matches. They will surely come out as a much better player after these matches.”

Alisa Spahić expects support from the stands at the European Championship matches:

“The support of the audience will be of great importance to us. These girls will need the wind in their backs, because they are young, and they have a certain pressure to present themselves, the cadet national team and women’s football in general in our country. Therefore, I invite all the girls from women’s football to be with the national team and support us. I invite all other athletes and people who love sports to be with us at the European Championships.”
