- Round 9
- FK Radnik vs. NK Široki Brijeg
- In the 89', following a challenge and sliding tackle, it’s clearly visible that player no. 29 pulls his leg back to avoid contact and a potential collision with the opponent. The referee reacted correctly and issued a yellow card, which was the appropriate disciplinary measure. No VAR intervention was needed, and the decision was confirmed upon review.
- FK Rudar vs. FK Sloga
- In the 61', the referee was well positioned and followed the home team’s attacking move into the opponent’s box. When the home attacker engaged in a duel with the visiting defender no. 28, it was clear the striker initiated contact in an attempt to draw a penalty, while the defender made a clean challenge directed at the ball without committing any punishable offense. Calm and decisive, the referee signaled from close range that no foul occurred and awarded a goal kick to the visiting team. The decision was entirely correct.
- Round 10
- FK Sarajevo vs. HŠK Zrinjski
- In the 62', the referee, positioned optimally, closely followed the action inside the visitors’ box. As the home player struck toward goal, the visiting defender no. 12 slid in front of his goalkeeper and handled the ball. The hand movement toward the ball was clear and visible, and the referee correctly awarded a penalty to the home team. However, he failed to issue a yellow card to the defender for unsporting interruption of a promising attack.
- FK Rudar vs. FK Borac
- In the 45', the referee was well positioned and tracking the play, but from his angle couldn’t clearly see a possible handball by the home defender no. 23 inside his own box. After VAR intervention, he reviewed the footage and awarded a penalty to the visiting team. Still, we believe both the main referee and VAR official made an incorrect decision, as it’s clearly visible the ball struck the defender’s left side of the stomach, not his arm. Although some camera angles (central and offside) suggest possible handball, referees must rely on the angle that clearly defines the situation.
- FK Radnik vs. FK Željezničar
- In the 14', after the visitors scored, the assistant referee-despite poor positioning at the time-correctly signaled offside at the start of the attack. At first glance, it may have seemed like a misjudgment due to positioning, but VAR confirmed the on-field signal was accurate.
- FK Sarajevo vs. HŠK Zrinjski
- FK Radnik vs. NK Široki Brijeg
It’s important to note that the VAR system performs precise field calibration before each match (evidenced by alignment of the longitudinal line and shaded pitch area on the image), eliminating the possibility of error in offside line determination.
We emphasize that referees don’t "draw" the lines, nor can lines be placed arbitrarily-the process is automatic and system-driven once the VAR official identifies the attacker’s and second-last defender’s points closest to the goal line. The lines shown by VAR are the result of automated technical processing, not subjective referee judgment. It’s clearly visible to the naked eye that the VAR official correctly marked these points, making the decision unquestionably correct.
