In the first half, Zrinjski threatened via Surdanović, Sušić and Mikić, while Slovan had one decent attempt by Vladimir Weiss from a favorable position, but neither side found the net.

All four goals came in the second half. In the 72', Marko Tolić fouled Igor Savić inside the box, and Nemanja Bilbija converted the penalty for 1:0. Jakov Pranjić doubled Zrinjski’s lead in the 76' with a brilliant strike from a tight angle on the left. Slovan equalized through David Strelec, who scored in the 80' and 87'.
