Following the opening match against Germany, head coach Jelena Milović's side now turns its focus to another demanding challenge against Sweden, who began the tournament with a victory over Poland. Head coach Jelena Milović believes her team has learned valuable lessons from the opening game and is determined to deliver an improved performance.
"Another demanding match awaits us, and I am confident we can learn a great deal from it. Sweden defeated the highly-fancied Poland in the opening round, which clearly showed the form they have brought into this European Championship. Through detailed analysis, we have identified their greatest strengths, the areas where we must be especially careful, as well as the spaces where we can look for our own opportunities. We are fully aware of the difficult task ahead, but this is exactly why we are here – to compete, learn and improve. Matches like these provide our young players with invaluable experience and an opportunity for further development. I would also like to thank our fans for their fantastic support in the opening match. I hope they will be with us again tomorrow in the same numbers, because their support means a great deal to our players."
Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder Bogdana Milićević also expects a challenging encounter but believes the team is ready to show progress.
"We are facing a team with a long tradition of competing at the UEFA Women's Under-19 EURO and one that has been among the top sides in European women's football for many years. I am certain this will be a very demanding match, and we will have to stay disciplined and focused throughout the full ninety minutes. In our previous match, we experienced what it is like to play against Europe's strongest teams, and I believe we now have a much better understanding of how we need to approach the game against Sweden. I would like to invite all football fans to come to Zenica and support us, as this is a unique opportunity for our country to host such a prestigious sporting event."
The Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina invites all football fans to come to Bilino Polje Stadium and support the Women's Under-19 national team. The encouragement from the stands will be an additional motivation for our players as they take on one of Europe's strongest teams.
