"The start of the UEFA Women's Under-19 European Championship marks a significant moment for football in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We are proud that UEFA has entrusted us with the organisation of such an important competition. Following the successful hosting of the UEFA Women's Under-17 European Championship four years ago, this is another recognition of the work carried out by the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina and confirmation that, together, we are capable of successfully organising major European sporting events.
Over the coming days, Sarajevo and Zenica will welcome Europe's finest young female footballers and the future stars of the women's game. I am confident that all participating teams, their delegations and supporters will leave with wonderful memories and that we will once again prove ourselves to be excellent hosts.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all FA employees, the organising team, volunteers, host cities, partners and everyone who has worked tirelessly over the past months to prepare and promote this tournament. A tremendous amount of work has been done in accordance with UEFA's demanding standards to provide all participants with first-class conditions for both the competition and their stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I wish all participating teams the best of luck and a fair and successful tournament. At the same time, I invite football fans to come to the stadiums and support the future stars of European football.
Although our national team will face major challenges against some of Europe's strongest sides, I am convinced that, with the support from the stands, our players will proudly represent Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Therefore, I invite all football lovers to come to the stadiums in Sarajevo and Zenica, support our girls and become their twelfth player. I am certain that the energy from the stands will provide them with additional motivation to give their very best on the pitch.
Welcome to Bosnia and Herzegovina, and may this European Championship be a true celebration of football, friendship and unity."
